Title: Material Handler

(Safety Sensitive Position)

JOB GRADE:  3

 

SUMMARY:  The Material Handler position is responsible for keeping all supplies and operating area inventory stocked and ready to be used on the High Speed printing press.  Also responsible for assuring the correct product is being used for the print run.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Filling feeders on the printing press.
  2. Must be able to read and execute job planning instructions
  3. Ability to work in a fast paced production environment.
  4. Leadership ability.
  5. Quality focus and commitment.
  6. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

 

REPORTS TO: Print Operations Supervisor

 

LOCATION: Duluth

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or GED

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:  Basic math skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and learn on the job.  Must be willing to work overtime, including 12 hour shifts.  Must be able to work weekends.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:  Attention to details, accuracy, and willingness to work flexible hours.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.  Irresistible Ink encourages participation in daily group exercises and stretch breaks for all of those that are able.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work involves limited exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:  Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
